Those who test negative, stay in school.
Those who test positive, quarantine.

Ethos’ Test to Stay program can now be found in almost 50 school districts across the state of Kentucky since the start of the 2021-2022 school year. The program is designed to keep healthy students and staff out of quarantine if they’re exposed to a positive case of COVID-19.

Test to Stay allows school districts to maintain safe in-person learning. The Ethos website home page displays the real-time “In-Person School Days Saved” number, showing days saved from quarantining across school districts each day.

This program was instituted to maximize in-person instructional days and minimize absenteeism due to COVID-19 for students and staff. It was also designed to reduce and prevent widespread outbreaks.

As a state approved laboratory, Ethos Labs uses FDA EUA COVID-19 Rapid Antigen testing for asymptomatic students and staff, which allows for schools to get results in minutes, on-site. Having test results this quickly has allowed schools to continue with a normal class day or, if the result is positive, a trip home to quarantine.

This is a voluntary program supported by the state, so there is no cost to the school districts or parents. There is no paperwork required for schools or staff and Ethos handles parent consent forms and reporting to the health department.

Ethos’ clinical field manager, Jasmine Horton shares, “We offer parents the option to have their children test or not test each day. It is solely up to them if they would like to participate and have their child do the testing.” For participating school districts, parents can unenroll at any time.
